In the middle of all of this “family crisis” stuff going on....I got a new car. An answer to prayer. My Honda needs some minor work...and it is way too small for my family. Plus the air does not work! Bah!
Well, I get this call from my mechanic, John. Now...I love John...but he is a weird guy. An excellent mechanic with good honest traits. But, everytime you call him to schedule work....he makes you feel like you are imposing on him. So...I have this great mechanic that I dread calling when I need work done. I guess it is the effect of success. He is very overwhelmed with work.
Well...John calls and he has this cream puff car. Similar to the Honda...owned by a little old person. It is a 1986 Grand Marquis with 55,000 miles. New tires and brakes. Fully loaded and the air works great. $700.00 was the final price. I have to sell the Honda...but I should be able to get $800 for it. The blue book website estimates $1200. I will ask $1000 and settle for $800.
The Grand Marquis is in nice condition. Yes...a little old man must have owned it previously, it is too clean. However, it is a V8 and instantly doubles my cost of gas...which I have already blogged about....
It is nice and big for the Family!
