I spend Tuesday mornings with Bill. It has come out of the need for mentoring which is required by by the Ministerial Study Program I am presently attending. My first mentor was Ian Cullen. A Pastor visiting from Australia. Ian was quite a character. In fact...Ian was zany. A good kind of zany though. Probably reflective of his countries sense of humor and culture. I liked Ian. He was very practical and had some great input into whatever we were discussing. I was sad to see Ian return to Australia. He was on a six month sabbatical and had to return to Australia.
Well...Bill replaced Ian. Actually...since we met, Bill has always been sort of a mentor. He has been quite valuable as a friend as well. We share many of the same interests and we both “suffer” from similar children growing pains. Our children being the same ages is probably why we have been enabled to become such good buddies.
Let me see. What do we discuss when we meet. Well....I usually have a question or two from my education. Our discussions tend more toward the current state of Sonrise. A large portion of Tuesday morning is going over Sunday. We are always looking at what went wrong and what went right. When things go right, God gets the glory. When things go wrong...well...we like to blame Satan. However, somewhere along the line we absorb the blame because that is usually where it lies.
Well, I have a dozen things to do before I leave this morning. It is 7 am now. I am looking forward to our meeting... hehe... Tuesday's with Bill. I should write a book or keep a journal about these meetings.
