I am really racking my brains to write something different and funny. But nothing comes to mind.
The name of my bowling team is the John Wood Project. It is in memory of a deceased bowler. Well...not exactly true. He is not dead. He just does not bowl anymore. A really good friend of mine. John Wood. Bowled with me and several other friends, Leigh LaVoie, Andy Mullin, Mike Lee and sometimes even my Dad for several years.
Well. John has the worst luck of any bowler I know. We tend to gamble a tad when we bowl. Nothing really major. You lose maybe 6-10 dollars a week if you have a really bad week.
Well, John's last year of bowling, he managed to figure out a way to lose very pot, card game, bracket, etc. He took it pretty hard. He quit bowling after that year. I think he buried his bowling ball in the back of his yard. A Black Hammer that was practically a dead ball anyway.
So, this year I am bowling in a mixed league on Wednesday night and we named the team after John. It was kind of funny. It was either John Wood Project or Gorilla Biscuits. John Wood Project won because I just could not look at Gorilla Biscuits on the scorer every week we showed up for practice.
One day I will share how I became the John Wood Team Captain. Me and Derek Jeter have a lot in Common. The Captain thin you know....plus we are both clutch and pretty lean machines..... hehe
