My Boy's Best Friend

Matt Meyer..

My Friend Bill's son is my boy's best friend.  Two weeks ago when I took away their X-box game system, they lost one of their links to Matt.

Today we are going on a really cool road trip to celebrate Matt's 14th birthday.  I'm kind of lucky because I am Bill's friend, I happen to be Justin, Andrew and Nicholas' Father, and I am a male. Had I been a Woman....I would have been tossed out.  This is a Men's trip and Christine (Matt's Mom) is coming...well...I guess because she is paying...so she can come. Oh...the road trip includes a Japanese restaurant..where they cook in front of you..and throw shrimp in their hat, take it out...add to it and chop it all up etc.  Then we are going to the I-max at the Tropicana in Atlantic City and we are goint to see the movie Robots

We had been away from a church body for some time.  I began looking and visited only one church, my mother in laws.  I knew upon that visit that I needed to be back to church.  So, of course I go home and I do things the only way that Matt Jacopec knows how...I open up the phone book, close my eyes, and circle my finger...and jab it the church section. Waaalaaaa.  I have a phone number.  I call up the church and I get a very pleasant woman. (Christine...on Sunday morning no less..shortly before church) I pack up the boys and off we go.

Here is the interesting part.  We park and walk to wards the building...and we are greeted in the parking lot by a little boy with very blue eyes...and white hair and red cheeks.  Immediately Nicholas and Matthew Meyer connected, and of course Justin and Andrew followed.

It was not that long afterwords that I was invited over the Meyer's house for lunch...Sunday after church...and I never left.  That is how I spend most of my Sunday's.  We invest in each other and our children are each other's extended children.  Rebecca Meyer the oldest daughter used to be a little frustrated...but now..Rebecca is getting older and she can really appreciate the tremendous friendship our families share.

Back to Matt.  Matt is Evil.  He Corrupted My Kids.  Hehe.  Nah. I just wanted to get that in...Boys are evil together...they just need other boys to get into any form of mischief they can find. My kids never wore shoes in the Meyers back yard with Matthew.  They destroyed 200 pairs of socks which I still have to answer for regularly before my Mother... The worse the weather...the less clothes they wore..with Matt.  Matt likes bad weather elements.  Sandals in snow... He is the only kid I know that can lose one shoe...wherever he goes.  It is quite funny.  He loves to be the center of attention and I have to add he is hilarious.  He has great quips and good comebacks and you do not want to be the leader of the group in charge of Matt. Cause he will ruffle your feather's every time.  But...he is Matt...and when you consider it later on....you want to just grab him and hug him and tell him....your too funny Matt.  Yeah....that is definitely Matt.

The exact opposite is true. Matt has a great heart.  He is very kind and loves to give away all of his possessions.  Whenever we would be leaving he would run up to me at the door and ask me if it would be all right if Justin or Andrew could have such and such Toy.  This happened regularly.  The sleepovers....  God Bless Christine Meyer.  She taught me about Sleepovers.  I don't pay attention anymore.  I just grunt when my children announce someone is sleeping over or if they want to sleep over Matt's.  It has been one of the treasures and bonuses that Matt Meyer has taught me.  Sleepover's Matter!..and thy don't sleep...and they need food...and lot's of money and video's!

What am I going to do when these boy's grow up.

Well...currently Nicholas is not here...but I know he would be invited if he were home.  But I have a great picture of Matt and his sister Rebbecca.  I cry every time when I look at it.  I have no clue where it is taken...but it is so beautiful...and it says volumes of he true relationship that they share.  Matthew is the one on the left by the way.

Today is your Day Matt.

Not much on my mind these days, but oh well. Eh. More or less nothing seems important.

I just don't have anything to say these days, but such is life. Maybe tomorrow. I can't be bothered with anything lately. Oh well.
