An Update....

Tuesday April 19th

6am  Rise and Shine  Organize Day

7am Arrive at Work  17 Bikes need to be built   10 x 20” bikes and 7 small bikes

8:20 am  leave for morning Ministry Meeting with Pastor Bill Meyer  (Breakfast!)  We discuss Sunday, the Jr High Youth Retreat, and many other things pertaining to Sonrise, and our families.  This is also my weekly “mentor” meeting.  We have been doing it for well over a year now and it has been quite beneficial to both Bill and myself.  I have always prided myself on recognizing my “mentor's” and I like to joke I suck them dry of information then toss them aside.  Fortunately for Bill he is a walking Theological Encyclopedia and very hard to exhaust.  Plus he is a great friend.

10:50 am  I arrive back at Toys R Us.  Build Six 20” bikes.

12:50 pm  Leave for Brisbane

1:25 pm  Arrive at Brisbane for Nick's Team Meeting.  Seven other team people attend.  From Therapists to Nurses.  We go around the table and discuss Nicholas and the past month. It really is extremely interesting and perhaps the greatest tool for me to know what is going on with Nick while he is at Brisbane.  What is a neat common denominator is that Nick has tried to manipulate each and every team member.  He is quite charismatic and they say he comes pretty close to succeeding.  Partly because he is so persistent.  He just beats you to death with insisting that he gets his way.  But these are professionals and they know Nick's game.  The end result is he gets frustrated by them consistently saying no to him, and he erupts. Well it is not pretty when he erupts and it has gotten him disciplined quite a bit.

I have also managed to ask several questions.  Like what happens when Nick turns 18.  He is not committable.  This means he is not insane.  Therefore, he can sign himself out...and walk away from any situation he is in.  Hence, we have from here until he is 18 to prepare him for life.  Currently he wants to hit everyone that he comes in contact.  This behavior will only end with him in jail for violence.  Prayerfully with the grace of God this will not be Nick's path.  Please pray for Nick.  We have him where he needs to be now...but he still needs further programs that will help him further, and I was told today that other places will not tolerate his present behavior, they will just send him to Juvenile Detention for his violent acts.

3:00 pm  Dr. Weinberg's appointment.  We discuss rash on my neck neck and wrists.  We also discuss my continuing neuropathy.  The growing intensity of my pain.  Dr Weinberg has OK's an increase in my pain medication and has set up a consultation with a Neurologist.  My friend Mike said the Neurologist will conclude there is nothing there.  Thanks Mike.  I concur.

5:00 pm  I come home and make Dinner.  Barbecued Chicken thighs and Rice Pilaf and Texas Toast.  :)

6:00 pm  Return to Toys R Us  We have a Tour tomorrow from a National Sales Team so the Bike Rack has to look good and full.  There were three bike builders in today.  But we were also selling bikes off the floor....so it feels like we are building for nothing....they are selling what we are building!  LOL.   When I finally leave at almost 9pm there are 5 holes in the small bike section and 5 holes in the 20” bike section.   We built over 20 bikes today...but we ware selling them just as quick.

Alas...I return to work at 7am again.  I wake up in 5 hours to start my day over.  Bless You Lord.  Can you Believe I am Disabled?  I am.  I just fight it every second of my life.  Bless you all my Friends.
