Well,
I arrived at the Dr's office with Sue. The nurse Linda took my sugar...and it was 87. An excellent number. So..Dr.W, a man I have a lot of respect for, took more blood that will reveal the three month history of my sugar. So, he told me not to worry about my sugar, and he changed my blood pressure medication because he thought my dizziness and headaches are still blood pressure related.
Last week I worked on a small Power Point Project for church. It was nothing big, but I am on the Missions Committee in Sonrise and it was my turn to relate about Missionaries we support in France. At the end of my presentation I prayed for the Missionaries and on Sunday night I received this interesting response...from France.
God is faithful!
We knew that our attendance would be down on Sunday afternoon but we thought we would have at least 6 or 7. On our way to the meeting, Tina was a bit discouraged from a phone conversation she had had just before leaving. We felt that we should go ahead with the service as planned if nothing else as a statement to the enemy that we would obey God. After getting everything set up, one couple arrived. He had prepared the Power Point for our worship and was anxious to see how it turned out. Our worship team was for the most part away, so I (Brad) had my guitar. We followed the service as planned and it was one of the best ones we have had yet. It was great. As I was explaining the passage of scripture for the day, Matthew 18.19, 20 about the importance of praying together, two thoughts came to me. First of all, the couple who were with us are among those who are not bilingual, they need a service that is only in French. Their attitudes were great. They didn't say a word about the fact that it was just the four of us. No, they were so happy to worship and hear the Word in a way they could understand. Secondly, one of our supporting churches in New Jersey, SonRise Alliance in Toms River, NJ had contacted us about having a special presentation about our ministry on Sunday June 11. I realized that as we were meeting, they were meeting as well. As the spiritual battle was going on, they were standing with us in making a statement to the powers of darkness that Jesus will build His church. We could definitely sense their prayer support as we met together. Please pray with us that as a congregation we will persevere over the summer months as our numbers dip low.
Very encouraging that God is moving and connects us despite distances. A testimony to his sovereignty. Another note....take each victory he presents one at a time. After awhile they pile up.....and you have a much larger church full of people with their own connecting stories.
Peace
