The other day Justin asked me to drive him to a friends home. The feiend lives about 2 miles or so down the street. I have encouraged him in the past to ride, However, it is a busy street and if I have the time I will drive him. Just is really nice to be with. He is very considerate and funny. My nick name for him when he was growing up was goof-ball. When I would call him that name he would give me a receptive goofy smile which justified the name.
Well, my goof ball son when we get to his friends house leans over and gives me a hug and a kiss on the cheek. Then he says," I love you Dad." My thoughts and emotions were indescibable at the time. The hug and the kiss are special. Justin is special. He loves without expecting anything in return. I know I am his Father, and we hold that special bond. But it is wonderful when love and affection is given especially when it is not solicited. Justin is a special boy. I am grateful for this gift God has given him. He is an encourager and tries to love everyone despite any personality disorfer they may have.
I pray that I have had a hand along with God in nurturing this in Justin. Silently I am proud of the young man Justin is turning into. He encourages me. From a child to a parent, that is precious fruit.
