I wanted to share with you some pretty cool links I found that I am adding to my blog. They reflect the very eclectic nature of my interests. These are blogs and web-sights that have grapped my attention during various tips around the web and I thought you would find them interesting to!
A young lady in our church has a friend at her college named Nick. He is an inspiring young man who who is in a war against cancer. He blogs about his victories and struggles. I find it pretty inspiring. You can vist him at
Cancer In College
For those of you who are not reading Scot McKnight's blog, you need to start. He writes a blog called
Jesus Creed. I think Scot has struck a good balance between exploring "emerging" spirituality, while keeping the his spirit firmly tethered to historical orthodox christianity. We used his "Advent Readings" for our Advent call to worships at SonRise this year.
I continue to very keenly interested in learning what God is doing around the world by way of renewing and reviving His church. I have become convinced in recent months that what we need right now in our churches in North America is a new general awakening and revival of the body of Christ. I believe this is a sovreign work of God that is a demonstration of grace and mercy. I am waiting, praying and preaching in anticipation of the new thing God is going to do among us. I have been following a couple of renewal oriented blogs. One is
Revival Fire News. This one especially brings news of an awakeing that is taking place in Shillong, India. Another one is
A Might Rushing Wind. He writes some shares some challenging thoughts about revival from a Pentecostal perspective.
Another must read for me is
Marc's Messages. Marc is the editor of Joel News, which brings together reports of what God is doing around the world.
Two other blogs that I read regularly are
The Resurgence, the blogging cooperative featuring the leaders of Mars Hill in Seattle. Mark Driscoll is the founder of Mars Hill. He is famous for his putting his foot in his mouth with his orthodox tirades concering the latest happening in the evangelical world. He most recently created a blog storm with comments he made concerning Ted Haggard's moral failure. I also read
Adrian Warnock's Blog regularly. Adrian pastors a church in England. He is expresses an "charistmatic reformed evangelical" theology that is pretty much where I am.
So friends, take some time to check out these blogs and may God rekindle the fire on our altars in 2007!
