Our Vision
SonRise Community Church is a growing fellowship of ordinary people of different backgrounds and age groups joined together through our experience of a life giving encounter with Jesus Christ. Empowered by the Holy Spirit we have been sent into the world to demonstrate the love of Christ in word and deed and to shape the future as we fulfill our God given calling.
Our Mission
To embrace people with the love of Christ regardless of where they are in their spiritual journey.
Luke 15:2
“He welcomes sinners and eats with them”
To transform and heal people by leading them into a life changing encounter with Christ through community, worship, Scripture, and the Lord’s table
2nd Corinthians 5:17
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.”
To equip and empower people to be more than they thought they could be and do more than they thought they could do through the supernatural enablement of the Holy Spirit.
Acts 4:13
“Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were uneducated, common men, they were astonished. And they recognized that they had been with Jesus.”
To send believers to fulfill their unique calling by serving Christ and bringing His love to all people everywhere.
John 20:21-22
“Again Jesus said, ‘Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you.’ And with that he breathed on them and said, ‘Receive the Holy Spirit’”
Our Beliefs
We believe God is doing a new thing in our day, bringing together three dynamic streams of the church: the evangelical stream, the charismatic stream, and the historic stream.
It is our desire to follow this “convergence” or “three streams” model of life and worship and welcome people from all these different backgrounds to learn and grow from one another.
The Christian and Missionary Alliance, the movement we are affiliated with provides both a Biblical foundation through it’s doctrinal statement and a liberty of the Spirit through its missional orientation for us to pursue ministry in.
Our Core Values
- Lost people matter to God. He wants them found.
- Prayer is the primary work of the people of God.
- Everything we have belongs to God. We are only stewards.
- Knowing and obeying God’s Word is fundamental
to all true success.
- Completing the Great Commission will require the mobilization of every fully devoted disciple.
- Without the empowerment of the Holy Spirit, we can accomplish nothing.
- Achieving God’s purposes means taking faith-filled risks. This always involves change.
